AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN / USED-CAR RECONDITIONING MECHANIC

North State Auto is looking for an experienced, dependable automotive technician to join our growing reconditioning department. We are a busy independent dealership with a steady supply of vehicles and consistent full-time work.

This position is focused on inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and preparing used vehicles for sale. We need someone who works efficiently, communicates clearly, and takes pride in completing repairs correctly the first time.

Responsibilities:

• Perform complete used-vehicle inspections
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems
• Complete brakes, suspension, steering, cooling-system, and engine repairs
• Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, fluid services, batteries, belts, and filters
• Handle check-engine lights and drivability concerns
• Identify needed parts and provide accurate repair recommendations
• Perform quality-control checks before vehicles are sent to detail
• Keep work areas, tools, and vehicles clean and organized
• Update repair progress and communicate delays or additional problems promptly
• Help move vehicles through reconditioning quickly without sacrificing workmanship

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of professional automotive repair experience
• Strong diagnostic and general mechanical skills
• Ability to work independently and stay productive
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
• Must provide your own basic hand tools
• Experience working on European vehicles is a plus
• ASE certifications are preferred but not required
