Responsibilities Perform a variety of massage techniques including Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, sports massage, prenatal massage, and occupational health treatments to meet individual client needs. Conduct thorough patient assessments to understand their health history, current concerns, and treatment goals. Educate clients on the benefits of massage therapy and provide guidance on self-care practices for pain management and injury prevention. Maintain detailed and accurate client records, including treatment notes, progress reports, and health histories. Ensure a safe and hygienic environment by adhering to sanitation standards and maintaining proper equipment usage. Communicate effectively with clients about their comfort levels, treatment plans, and any medical considerations using clear client communication skills. Stay current with industry best practices by participating in ongoing education related to physiology knowledge, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, CPR certification, and new massage techniques. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Massage Therapist with current certification. Proven experience in various massage modalities such as Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, sports massage, prenatal massage, and medical spa treatments. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pain management principles. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to assess client needs accurately and tailor treatments accordingly. Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor that fosters client trust and satisfaction. Ability to communicate effectively with clients about their health concerns and treatment options. CPR certification is required; additional certifications in occupational health or med spa experience are a plus. Prior experience working in a healthcare or wellness setting is preferred; familiarity with medical terminology enhances your effectiveness.
